French flag French Insulators

Several insulator manufactures in France have produced glass insulators for a number of years. Production included both unipart and multipart insulators; the latter for high voltage work.

A great range of unusual styles, with nicknames such as T-bars, Nosers, Spooks, Robots, and Lady Robot, were produced. Some common embossings include FOLEMBRAY, ISOREX, L'ELECTRO VERRE, and SEDIVER.

Today, SEDIVER continues to produce both communication and power units according to international specifications. They export "toughened glass" insulators for high voltage and extra high voltage overhead power transmission lines to numerous countries, including the United States.

For more information about insulators produced by France see the chapter about French Insulators in the book Glass Insulators from Outside North America.
