Announcing the Tommy Bolack B-Square Ranch & Museum Tailgater, scheduled for Saturday, June 6, 2009, in Farmington, New Mexico. Those arriving early can attend the Friday tours listed below. This will be an event you will NOT want to miss! But you must hurry, this is an RSVP event, with a May 18 deadline for reservations.
In addition to insulator activities, including private tours of Tommy's world class insulator collection, there will be many other attractions available on this 12,000 acre working ranch and private wildlife refuge. Tours will be scheduled for the Bolack Electromechanical Museum and the Bolack Museum of Fish and Wildlife. The electromechanical museum consists of two buildings totaling 30,000 square feet of display space, featuring all sorts of old neat stuff, primarily related to electricity. A third museum building was constructed in time for last year’s event and will be available to us again in 2009.. Although not an extensive website (and in need of a little editing), here's a link to some additional information that will give you a broader idea of what will be awaiting you in June:
This will be an excellent function to plan a vacation around and should appeal to all family members, whether they are collectors or not (some age restrictions apply to the tours—see below). Farmington is near the "four corners" of New Mexico, Colorado, Utah and Arizona, so there are plenty of other attractions to visit in the general region.
Drop me a note at cdn102@comcast.net so I can get your name on the list, along with the number in your party. The tours will be as follows:
Friday tour schedule:
9 a.m. for the Electromechanical Museums. This could take in excess of two hours. Admittance age is 6th grade to adult.
1 p.m. for the Museum of Fish and Wildlife. This will take approximately 1 hour. Admittance age is 4th grade to adult.
Depending on time availability in the afternoon, Tommy is planning to arrange tours of his private insulator collection in his home for those attending the above tours. This will be for adults only.
Saturday tour schedule:
At this time there are no set schedules for the Saturday tours. They will likely be announced during the tailgater event, including tours of Tommy's personal collection. The same age restrictions will apply as outlined above. Tommy is planning a “special” lunch feed for those attending the tailgater on Saturday.
Hotels:
Hotels and motels in Farmington are rather plentiful and can be found at the following link

Doing a Google search for "Tommy Bolack" will reveal that he is a busy guy, often involved with public functions and achievements, as well as following personal aspirations. Tommy requested that I disseminate and field all the PR work for the tailgater, which I happily accepted. Please contact me if you have any questions at: cdn102@comcast.net
I can't stress enough how amazing this event will be. If you can at all find a way to make this event, do it! I guarantee you will walk away with memories that will last a lifetime!
