2 Part Multiparts2 Part Multiparts

Multipart insulators are any pin-type insulator made of two or more pieces (or shells) which are cemented together. The first multipart dates to 1900 when Fred Locke designed M-2795 for the Bay Counties, CA power line at 60,000 volts. The highest previous line was limited to 30,000 volts! This section covers 2-part multiparts. These are made from two sections cemented together.
