Note that the multiparts are used to insulate switches. There is a handle mounted on the pole which is used to open the switches.

Green suspension type 1716: the ink marking is too faint to read the date, I can see only the digit 121 indicating the cooking lot. The green version was used on the old SFRN railroad co.

Most of these were installed during World War 2. 65 years of hot labor in the sun and they are still keeping power stable in Eastern Oregon.
