Here is a still shot from "Bad Luck Blackie", a 1949 cartoon by Tex Avery. Unfortunately, it's hard to see the insulators on the crossarm, but there are two blue (peacock? electric?) signals up there. The sad thing is, that darn kitten has a better shot at rescuing one than Elaine and I ever will...
