Shown in this picture are six examples of signals found on the same 25-mile stretch of abandoned Arizona railroad yesterday (March 20, 2004). These are (left to right) a CD 161.2 Brookfield (one found), a CD 162 Maydwell-19 in Purple Tint (two found on the same pole), CD 162 N.E.G.M. Co. (One Found), a CD 161 California in Smoke?, A CD 162 H.G.Co Signal (5-6 found), and a 162.1 STAR with Amber (1 of 22 removed, more found). The California was found on a 25-30' pole right next to a 4 way crossing of a major road with a dirt road. It was the only one found on that trip, and was difficult to get down. Ultimately it was brought down with a picking pole with an extension pole inserted. |
