These two CD 145 Brookfield's were found on a railway telegraph line that ran West out of Griffin, GA. I'm not sure this was the Central of Georgia. At any rate, it was more recently constructed and had only two tiers - one for signal power and one for the telegraph. All the insulators on this line were either CD 145 Brookfield's or CD 145 Star's and was as rainbow of color. The CD 145 on the left is embossed Brookfield on the front skirt and is a very deep yellow green. The CD 145 on the right is embossed Brookfield on the front skirt and has New York on the back skirt. It is a greenish aqua color. This mould style is very unusual. The insulator looks somewhat like a mushroom. There were equal numbers of both styles in every color from light aqua to deep green for the mold style on the left and color in shade of aqua for the unique CD 145 Brookfield on the right. The CD 145 Star's out numbered the Brookfield probably by about two to one or more. |
