Well this happened in the spring of 2002 near a local high school. I was with ameren watching them put up a 3phase transformer and they got a call saying Oakville highs power lines where on fire. but about 10 min before that a slight storm rolled threw and not much rain but a lot of lighting so i followed them to the site and to find it was farter down the road. Well what happened was lighting hit one phase of 7,200v and snapped the line and the line fell but where the lighting came out of the ground it busted a gas main and the underground sprinkler system in this million dollar house. Well it was weird because everything was on fire the yard and wires were on fire so they put it out and there was a huge hunk of dark green in this guys yard. We couldn't touch it, it was that hot but later i took a large piece and what it was when the sand and alum. from the wires made glass and the grass gave it color. In this pic you can see a part missing and i took that. Later that month i had 3 collages mail me asking for samples and pictures that it was rare and may have created diamonds or something along the lines, i still don't know but many Jewelers say it looks like an expensive rock. But has anyone heard of glass like this or seen this before???
