This picture is to address e-mail regarding the two rim embossed Postal Telegraph Company styles. On the left is a CD 156 POSTAL TELEGRAPH CO PAT SEP 13 1881. in light mint green. Note that there is no "T" on SEPT and the 3 in 13 is reversed. The insulator on the right is a wide groove CD 156.1 POSTAL TELEGRAPH CO PAT SEP 13 1881 in light mint green. Again, the 3 in SEP 13 is reversed. It will also be interesting to note that the Postal CD 156.1 is a totally different style than both the two CD 156.1 American's. I would be interested in knowing if any of the two American CD 156.1's were utilized on "Postal" telegraph lines. It's fairly certain that American Insulator Company made the two Postal styles. The question I have is if American made the other two CD 156.1 styles for Western Union and for other telegraph companies.
