This is a CD 156.1 American Insulator in aqua-blue which was found on the Central of Georgia Railway telegraph line. They were generally distributed over most sections of the line. The embossing is "AM INSULATOR CO. PAT SEPT 13 1881." This wide-groove mould style appears to be more common that the narrow-groove style. This style is much heavier than is the CD 134 style and generally these were recovered with very little damage. If memory serves, most of the wide-groove style were recovered in mint condition. |
