Left: Rare Blob-Top Star Pony Insulator – light blue I am constantly on the look-out for this variation of the CD 102 star pony insulator. I don't see more than one or two of these in a year. It is EIN095 in the insulator Price Guide. It has a star on both front and back skirts and is ½ inch taller than most CD 102 stars. What intrigues me most is the "ball" top. It actually has more the profile of a marble on a stand, but the PG and the insulator collecting hobby has dubbed it "blob top" (after the CD 126).

There is a nice bubble above the wire groove over one star and another nice bubble (smaller) under the other star. This insulator is in Very Near Mint condition: There is a hard-to-see ½ inch annealing "split" (a healed crack from manufacturing) which I caught just right in the light.

Right: This is either a light purple NO EMBOSSING CANADA EIN020 or it is a NO NAME CANADA EIN015 BUT IT DOES NOT HAVE the short vertical bars on the skirts. IT DOES HAVE the 1-1/4 inch slightly offset circle around the dome. The purple has a light variegation or splotchyness (swirls) to it. It has a smooth base. There is a nice swirl in the glass at the end of the threads. I just noticed a 1 inch long stress crack in the dome at the top of the pin hole. It is quite hidden, since I never noticed it while I was displaying it. The is some roughness to the outside edge all the way around the base.

$ 20 plus shipping for either one, or 35 plus shipping for the pair
