Both of these insulators were used on the The Buffalo Lockport and Rochester interurban. It was built between 1907 and 1910 between Rochester and Lockeport N.Y. The first section of the 60kV transmission line for the railroad sub stations was built in 1907-1908 between Lockport and Albion, N.Y. used the M-4383 made by the Lima Insulator Company of Lima N.Y. There is one surviving intact example of this insulator in addition to second repaired unit found by Jeffery Kraimer and myself. The insulator features a unique top with the two lower skirts of the M-4600 and a small reassessed inner skirt from the M-3070.

The Lima factory burned in 1908 and thus could not supply insulators for the second phase of construction of the line from Albion to Rochester in 1909-1910. The line instead used the unique M-4345 made by Ohio Brass. The M-4345 came in the typical orange mahogany glazes of the very earliest OB production of the 1908-1909 era. Only two or three M-4345 O-B examples survive today Jeff and I found numerous shards of them but sadly we found no intact units on the line.
