Here's a RARE porcelain no-tie insulator U-2017A made circa 1890-1910. Marked CP which is an abbreviation for Caminhos de Ferro Portugal (Portugal Railroad). Note that my "CP" seal is quite smaller than the one posted on NIA website- just under 1/2" across and comes in a darker glaze! Also note that the cable "eye" hole is 1/2" size to accommodate a large power cable than the typical Spanish examples with 1/4" hole. These are rarely seen or offered! Much rarer than British white ones found in Spain. Has surface glaze crazing on front (seen in photo) and rear skirt [id=758461772] and one hook, a small line goes across the base [id=758461772] and stops. Some light wear on the raised seal with light glaze scratches. Teeny tic mark and two small fleabites on one hook. Measures 3 3/16" x 5 5/8" tall with a 1" pinhole. I am going to price this to fly at only $175 shipped to the first email. Thanks! |
