We left from Southern Indiana this morning, starting the long treck to Helena. Our first stop (after 5 hours of driving) was the Iowa 80 Trucking Museum. I first found this museum on the way to the Western Regional in 2019. It is absolutely superb. In the front lobby of the museum, they have moved out a 1926 Pole Truck made by the "Four Wheel Drive Auto Co." to celebrate it's 100th birthday. On a poster toward the back of the truck, they suspect the truck was spared from WWII scrap drives by being an essential part of the Rural Electrification project. It weighs over 13,000 lbs. If you are taking I-80 to get out west, I strongly encourage making the stop. One of my favorite museums in the whole country.
