Very scarce CD 718 with the "banded base" variation. The color is aqua, but the resin repair has faded and shows an off-yellow color. This is a specimen, and most of the bottom half is missing; a couple portions of the lower wire ridge are missing and filled in, each about 2" wide. There is really only one small section of skirt intact with about a 1" section of the banded portion that remains original, and the rest is resin. The upper half appears to have been three separate pieces that were glued back together, but it is all glass with no chunks missing. What makes this specimen particularly interesting is there is what appears to be a very large bubble that wraps around over half the dome! The bubble is somewhat shallow, and it appears some of the inside portion around the pinhole was broken out and reglued. The photo above shows the original skirt portion (left side) with the large bubble being the cloudy areas below the top of the pinhole. It's ugly, it's beat up, but it's an opportunity to have an example of a very elusive variation of a classic threadless. Many more photos available. Asking $130 plus shipping. |
