These are quite unusual colors, both are in amazing VNM condition,

LEFT: Beautiful light Steel Blue with light purple swirls The color of this insulator is quite subtle. Under most light it appears to have patches of light steel blue and patches of very light purple. Back light brings out the colors you see in my photos. EIN170 with the pointed base. There is a quarter inch dome ping which is hard to see because of the many pox marks on the dome. There is a white UFO in the wire groove right above "PAC" I thought this was damage from the tie wire, but the surface over the white is smooth and shiny, so it appears to be something imbedded in the glass. PG $150-175. I have owned stronger steel blue with purple swirls.

Unusual smoky purple tint with light amber in dome CANADIAN PACIFIC RYCO EIN060 no periods, MLOD with the pointed base. The price guide does not distinguish the "tipped in" or "pointed base" from the smooth base. This is an unusual color for the CD 143. In some light conditions it looks smoky gray or smokey light lavender. It was sold to me as smoky purple tint, and I concur that is what describes it best. There are some nice wisps of amber that makes it even more interesting. The photos are taken with 5000k backlighting. There are two flea bites one on the dome and one just below the rear wire groove. There is some very very light wire groove wear on about a third of the wire groove and a one inch area of light wear on the lower wire ridge above "DIAN". The closest PG $250-300 for smoky gray
