Tough to find early pony in the classic brilliant Brooke's Blue. These are nearly always bashed, but this one made it through the war looking pretty darned good, with only a pencil eraser size fisheye on the dome. Besides the striking color, this one has some nice chunky crud in the skirt to make things even more interesting. This is the "PAT. APP. FOR" marked example. Believed to be made by Leonard Glass Works of Detroit, MI in the 1880's. Some light wiregroove rubbing show it saw service. Doubtful you could upgrade this one for condition. $180/shipped to U.S. address. |
