I am so happy to have aquired this piece. I paid a good bit for it but was worth it. This is a Ohio Brass Co. made Catenary Cable Insulator. I have wanted one of these for over 20 years, but to find one in nice shape and avalible was scarce to none. A long time ago Ken Willick had one but it was badly chipped up. I didn't buy it but regreted not doing so. Flash forward to 2018, Michael Green posted a picture of one and a link to a article 3/5/1909 Elton Gish posted in the insulators archive section explaning it. So far I have not found any Ohio Brass Co. catalogs from the teens era showing this piece. If you have a catalog page showing this I'd love to receive a picture. This heafty piece measures 4"W X 6"L X 3 1/2"H. It's a 2" thick block with half inch holes for some big lag screws or bolts. This piece has a few minor chips that I touched up with a paint marker. It now has a nice spot on my desk. Sometimes if you wait long enough you'll find that special piece.
