I got a response from my ad in the local paper. The person is a retired RR engineer and has the most amazing collection of RR memorabilia I've ever seen. His basement could be a museum. He also has a small collection of insulators, and some porcelain ones he wasn't interested in, which I took home with me. I think the big one is a 621 PHV, although the color is not one often seen on PHV pieces. The smaller cable tops on the right are, maybe, PHV U-544's, the gray signal is an OB, not sure what the while one or "wood-grain" ones are (too bad for the damaged ear), and the guy strain is fairly old. I meet the most interesting people through my ad. See the next 2 posts for his glass insulators. |
