This photo, taken in September 1972, is facing west toward Harpers Ferry, West Viriginia. It was likely taken from the Maryland Heights Overlook. The bridge on the left is for the Baltimore & Ohio Shenandoah Branch. The H-pole right before the river was likely an imposing sight in those days.
