This is a glass plate negative in my collection.

Sadly the image doesn't show any telegraph lines that I can see but the photographer wrote:

"Club cacti so high as frequently to be utilized as telegraph poles. Mexico."

Does anyone have any more info or evidence of using cacti as telegraph poles?
