Construction of an 80 kV transmission line between Vereeniging and Johannesburg. This was part of one of the first grids on the african continent, which was built mainly for mining purposes. The grid included four power stations (Brakpan, Simmerpan, Rosherville, Vereeniging) and transmission lines of 80, 40 and 20 kV. Today all of these power plants and transmission lines are dismantled, except a handful 40 kV pylons near Krugersdorp West Village.
