Mike Parker showed me this line (I believe this was at Rose Lodge, OR in front of a store) when I went out west to visit him before the Portland National, and he said it was the last remaining example of this type of Mountain States Power line construction - pairs of 10" disks suspending a 22kV line instead of large bowls or small multis. After Pacific Power took over in 1954, the old 22kV system was bumped down to 12.47kV distribution, and most of the old MSP-era construction has since disappeared in line rebuilds through the decades. |
