A little while back I posted a bracket with two solid porcelain spools on it. Recently I came across another one. This one is smaller and measures 10"L X 3"H counting the solid spool 2 1/4"W. The spools are unmarked. I replaced the rusted carrage bolts but everything else is original. The seller said these were used as dead-ends on a pole where he lived in M.I. He had three sets of these that came off the same pole. I still have'nt found a patent on these but as stated I have two spools that are marked with an Illinois Porcelain Co. and Universal Clay Products Co. So I at least know two companies that made the insulators. Would love to find more info on these neat pieces. Especially a catalog page showing there use.
