The Virginian Railway main line also ran through some very scenic and remote areas. It crossed over massive viaducts and passed through nearly two dozen tunnels. The Virginian was constructed in 1906 and used lots of CD 162 and CD 162.1 signals. Many purple Whitall Tatums were found where the pole lead ascended over the steep mountains above tunnels.
