Here's one from my own collection. I've always liked these pieces where the threading mandrel left a mark while being removed during production. As you can see, there are two marks about 1.5 cm wide where threads have been indented into the glass while still molten, right behind the Diamond monogram on the front skirt and 180 degrees opposite that on the rear skirt. The rear skirt defect is a bit taller and more pronounced than the front skirt one, and the base edge has been deformed a bit below it as well. The insulator itself is a nice light green type II "speedy diamond" pony - not an uncommon piece, but not the most common mold variant either. The dome has a great mess of straw marks all over it, as well. This one is in excellent condition with only some minor scuffs in the wire groove. I'm now asking $50 USD plus actual shipping cost for this one as I think I'd priced it a little too high previously. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
