For insulator collectors, what better way to display them than on a vintage crossarm. I have for sale six original crossarms of various lengths that possibly date to the late 1950s. Four of the arms are 10 feet long; one is 9 feet; one is 45 inches. Each crossarm measures 4 inches by 3 ¼ inches, and each has one or two holes on its side for bracing. One of the 10-footers has about an 8-inch notch on each end, for what purpose I don't know. Three of the 10-footers have 10 circular peg holes approximately 1 1/4 inch in diameter; the notched 10-footer has eight holes; the 9-footer has 16 holes; the 45-inch crossarm has five holes. Three of the 10-footers are neatly engraved with the marking "E&R J-59 SPC." I can't decipher its meaning, but wonder if "J-59" might mean January 1959. They appear to have been treated with creosote, which has preserved most of them in very good to excellent condition. BONUS: In addition to the crossarms, buyer gets the 20 Whitall Tatum No. 1's that are shown in the photos. The crossarms are located near Hawthorne in North Central Florida, about 100 miles south of the Georgia line and 125 miles north of Orlando.
