Rarely seen for sale, this is the scarcer mold profile of the consolidated CD 170. Believed to have been made by American Glass Pipe & Plate Co. of Boston, they can be found with very short or very long skirts, and everything in between. This example has a rather long skirt, making a large insulator outright huge ! As is typical for these brutes, this one has a nice, light fizzy glass quality that makes it bright and glowing. The skirt has a glob of olive green goop that looks like a polliwog and stands out against the light blue-aqua glass. This piece has a clean 1.5" inner skirt chip and a pinkynail flake off the underside of the wire ridge. Otherwise, it appears day one excellent. These are prone to bad damage and besides all the great character, it is in exceptional condition for this rare early power piece. $90, shipped in U.S.
