I'm going to be listing a few Canadian CD 145s in the coming days. For years I considered these to be a specialty of mine. As we all know, sometimes the space just isn't there to keep all of these things around! Here's an oddball G.N.W.TEL.CO. CD 145 with the "thin print" embossing that can also be found in purple shades. This mould style is one of the more common types, but this example is a bit odd in a few ways. For one, it has a long, smooth lower pinhole, where most examples have only a short section of this between the base of the threads and the inner skirt. It's also apparent at a glance that this one has a very unusual lack of inner skirt. The smooth area below the threads extends all the way to the bottom edge of the inner skirt, as though the space between the skirt and the inner skirt was completely filled with glass while the pinhole was being formed. If this weren't enough, this specific example also has a great cascade of mixed fizz and amber swirling that runs down the rear crown and into the rear skirt! This example is in great condition with the exception of a 5 mm wide BB ping on the rear crown, just above the wire groove. If it's a heavy hunk of Canadian glass from the early 20th century that you're after, then this one will do well. I'm asking $50 USD plus actual shipping cost from London, ON for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
