Here's a killer Canadian CD 145 with a lot of character. This G.T.P. CD 145 is an absolute snow globe of black metal fragments swirling throughout both the skirt and crown in front and back - primarily the back. Something rusty must have fallen into the glass batch and then disintegrated. Several of the fragments have tiny trails of amber swirling (caused by iron oxide). They don't closely resemble metal in that they appear more as small black or dark grey fragments and don't have a metallic shine. I did test some with a strong Neodymium N52 magnet and found that it weakly sticks to some of them that are close to the top of the pinhole. The insulator itself is a common light aqua G.T.P. TEL. CO. CD 145 with "N.W." blotted out behind the "T.P.", and most of the embossing is the "thin print" type that is found on the purple G.N.W. CD 145s. This piece is in good condition with just a few short scuffs/scratches on the front and rear crown and one tiny flake on the rear inner skirt edge. I'm asking $135 USD, INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada or the lower 48 US states for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
