Here's one I've long struggled to part with - a scarce Canadian toll in an absolutely killer Brookfield dark olive green colour. This one was rescued from certain destruction by a S.W. Ontario lineman who picked it from a toll lead near Cayuga, Ontario in the mid 1970s. He was involved in dismantling some of the last open wire lines to survive here in this part of Canada. This is probably the hardest colour to find in this embossing style, and is certainly the most striking as it absolutely GLOWS in natural sunlight. This one looks great at a glance, but it does have a well-hidden tight fracture that hugs the outer edge of the uppermost thread, near the top of the pinhole. Because of the upper wire ridge this fracture is not only nearly invisible at a glance, but it's actually challenging to see without the right lighting. Still, full disclosure: it is there. The photo at right is the best view of it I could get, in bright sunlight looking down from the dome top. Otherwise there are three flakes on the front lower wire ridge, the largest being 5 mm wide. Lastly I see a few scuffs and scratches here and there. I'm asking $300 USD, INCLUDING SHIPPING within Canada or the lower 48 US states for this one. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
