This is a view of a Soo Line RR bridge over the Mississippi River, South of Little Falls, Minnesota. The railroad is gone, now, along with the tracks. About 12 years ago, they were pulled up. This was a very rural track that ran from Brooten to Duluth. There was a wood bridge at one time, because the remnants of it can be seen under the steel bridge. I am not sure what year this bridge was built, but the last time it was painted, was back in 1968 (the paint job was dated) and I would say it was built around 1910 to 1920. The bridge is built along side of a hydroelectric dam and spans approximately 500-700 Ft, & that's a guess. This is a big bridge, and kind of a favorite place of mine, even without the trains anymore. I found a fair number of insulators along this line, but nothing earth shaking. This rail line ran just under a century through here.
