I am trying to identify the EIN and color of the CD 143 CanPac in the middle. The closest EIN I can find is [170] (F-Skirt) CANADIAN PACIFIC.RY.CO {Several variations of number of periods and period placement} SB, but the piece in the photo has a MLOD. It's also close to EIN [150] (F-Skirt) CANADIAN. PACIFIC. R.Y.CO {MLOD} SB, but the period placement is wrong. I know that period placement isn't necessarily a thing, but when the Guide makes specific reference in one EIN for various period placements, I would expect to see it in other EIN's if it applies (at least for the same insulator listing). In any event, the specific embossing on this one is: (F-Skirt) CANADIAN. PACIFIC RY CO {MLOD} SB with a period appearing only after CANADIAN. But my real conundrum is the color. I've shown it between a CD 145 Star in Hemingray Blue and a CD 145 CREB in bright Blue. Of all the colors listed in the Price Guide for this insulator, the closest I could come under any EIN would be a cross between Gray and Sage Green—maybe Sage Gray? Gray Green? It's loaded with fizz and steam, and there's a huge, elongated bubble above the front embossing. There's some base edge chipping, an open bubble and sheer flake on the rear wire ridge, and a stress fracture in the dome. There's a small bubble that abuts and is reflected in the fracture making a little figure 8. Click on View Original to see this better. UPDATE: B.N. thought that the period after CANADIAN may be an manufacturing anomaly, and this is really EIN [060] (F-Skirt) CANADIAN PACIFIC RY CO {No periods} {MLOD} SB. He suggested the color is Sage Green. J.P. thought the color was Gray Green, which is listed under one EIN in the Price Guide, but he has several other EINs in that color. He didn't know why they are unlisted. Thanks to all who responded. |
