Left: This insulator is a little lighter than royal purple; probably a dark purple VNM. There are no chip or flakes, but there is wire groove wear about half way around the wire groove. There is one spot about an inch long with a wire scar. There is also a little wire wear under the lower wire ridge on the skirt. I always like wire wear, it shows the insulator was in service. There is also a stain from the wire groove to the base, which looks like flash over.

RIGHT: This insulator passes light well, so I would not call it "dark" as far as diamond ponies are concerned. It is either olive green or yellow olive green. The only damage I can find is two small base flakes each about a half inch long on the outer edge of the base.
