Here's another scarce Canadian CD 154 variation: an "empty Diamond" CD 154 with rounded drip points. As others have pointed out before, this embossing variation fits into the category of "uncommon common" insulators not often seen despite a relatively low price guide value. Smooth based versions of this embossing style are very common across Canada, but with rounded drips like this one these are very tough to find - doubly so in good condition. This one is a typical colour for this style: a rich peach colour. This example has no visible wire ridge or base chips, but does have some mineral etching/staining from being in or on the ground for some time. It also has an area of deep scratching on the rear skirt. Still, this damage is relatively minor compared to the condition I've seen these in on most occasions, as the fragile wire ridges of this mold style tended to chip very easily. I'm asking $24 USD plus shipping for this example. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
