Here's a RARE unipart composite (porcelain?) insulator from Italy. This is the first pintype unipart composite insulator from this country and it is not listed on the NIA website. It is identical to the CD 444 in profile and dimensions (2 7/8" w x 3 5/8" Tall. However, it has a unique manufacturer embossing: (on crown)

STIPEL-TELVE-TIMO-56 (in a circle) This may be an error embossing for SIPTEL (which can be found on a CD 444 Italian insulator). In the center of the circle it reads: ELESA.

Insulator is in excellent condition with no chips or cracks! Only one known! Heavy like ceramic and not hard rubber but appears to have pieces of material inside.
