- CAN PAC CD 143 and G.N.W. CD 145. Sold">

Here's a pair of uncommon Canadians in great purple-swirled colours. Both of these have considerable damage, but if you're looking for an example of either of these styles in purple-swirled glass colours, these won't break the bank like so many auction prices will. I've attempted to capture the purple swirls in the photos, though these are difficult to capture at times. Please view the full size image for a better chance at seeing them.

At left is a G.N.W.TEL.CO. CD 145 in the "thin embossed" version with no blotouts - made in the same mold as the royal purple shades were. This example has steely blue-grey base colour with an abundance of fine, diffused purple swirls looping around, mainly in the dome and above the pinhole. This gives it a sort of "two tone" appearance in some lighting, with the dome being more purple than the skirt. This one has a 2 cm wide base bruise with an associated small flake on the front left base. It also has a 4 cm long faint bat wing-shaped bruise on the rear skirt just behind the left mold line, a 4 cm long flat base flake in the rear behind the right mold line, a 5 mm BB ping above the rear wire groove, and a few scattered faint "fisheye" bruises in the rear. Overall it actually displays quite well despite all the damage.

At right is a [170] CANADIAN PACIFIC RY CO CD 143. The purple swirls in this one loop around the sides of the crown and one small area is concentrated behind RY CO, giving a bit of a blotchy purple appearance in this area when backlit. The damage is obvious in this one, with large calcified white no-glass-missing bruises and one large glass-missing bruise as well. There's also one 1 cm wide faint bruise on the right base edge below RY.

I'm asking $20 USD plus shipping for the pair. Again, they're in rough, rough shape, but they'll cost 1/10th of what mint examples will. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I have a long-standing want list of Canadian-made porcelain posted, [id=505519866; please click here to see it]. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items.
