I've had one of these in my collection for quite a while. When I acquired it, I was told it was a Hemingray product. I talked to some other folks before making the purchase and they also attributed it to Hemingray.

I've never had anyone tell me that it is anything other than a Hemingray product so I'm curious about why folks are so convinced. How was the decision made? Have there been examples dug at the Hemingray dump? Was the decision made based strictly on a visual comparison with embossed pieces? Do we know anything about where and when these pieces originally showed up?
