Finally found a G & A (Thomas E. Gammon, Henrey D. Averill) tree insulator sold by Line Material Co. in the 30's thru 50's. Patented US 1,595,653 on Aug 10,1926 for a claw like slack wire insulator to screw into trees. Unfortunatly my piece dosen't have the lag screw yolk with it but I am happy to have the porcelain part. I made a home made bracket using a spool clevis, bolt and bushings so I can mount and display it. I would imagine these are very hard to find complete in that the heavy porcelain would fall away as the bolt would rust off over time and seperate from the yolk. There are no markings on the glazed part but on the bottom is a triangle in a circle for Line Material Company and a U inside a circle for Universal Clay Products who made these for Line Material. Very neat piece.
