Here is a near perfect battery jar embossed on the front THE/SAMSON/BATTERY/ No 2; on the side SAMSON/ELEC. Co./CANTON/MASS.; and on the rear WATER LINE/{Underscore}/WITHOUT ELEMENTS. The top of the black insert is embossed(Arc) FITCH PERFECT BATTERY/(Arc) MFG'D BY/(Arc) CALVANO FARADIC MFG.CO./N.Y./PAT. OCT. 6. 1885. The porcelain insert has an old fissure. That's the only damage I can find. Asking $125 plus postage for this old soldier. CK/MO
