I had to go to Laws, CA at the end of last month, so I flew into Vegas and drove over. Got the very unique experience of driving through Death Valley in the rain! On the drive over, I found a line of these old Locke fog-type suspensions paralleling CA 178 west of Pahrump across the Resting Spring mountains, and then turning north towards Death Valley Jct. Probably used out there due to dust and salt contamination in the desert, given how little water ever falls.
