Unusual porcelain two-piece clamp-style insulator. Embossed (E) Pat Sept 18 1917 on both skirts. I understand from doing some research that this is a street light drop insulator. Has only 1 almost pinky nail sized chip seen in the collage at lower left, and 4 very tiny unseen flakes that are hidden when this two-piece is together. I do not have the clamp for this. This is also a tongue-and-groove two-piece insulator. Many more pictures available. Generous credit is due to Jim Sinsely and the NIA for the patent and historical information on this unusual piece as well as Bill Meier and ICON for the forum to put it for sale on. $70 postpaid in the USA. |
