After posting the former article info of the "The New Brookfield Insulator" [id=676905115], Bill contacted me and said we have a non-contemporary 1946 source saying Hemingray was making them in 1910. I have seen, but did not save/record articles with the same illustration as above and similar wording as above saying this was a Brookfield development. Bill also did some asking and sent me the following:"I asked Bob, Elton, and David W. My comments were In 1909/1910 ATT/WU wanted a "new" standard insulator, oversaw its development, and selected the final product. I know Hemingray was involved in making prototypes and testing for them. I believe the CD 169 was one of them. Perhaps CD 157? "Somehow" (details fuzzy here) ATT/WU approved/selected one design and said "OK guys (Hemingray, Brookfield, others), we need a lot of these, go make them!" Hemingray began production in 1910, Brookfield ??? I know David had information that supported much of that that came from the ATT archives. Is this a close approximation?

I am hoping we can find out the apparent discrepancy I see above, and more light can be shed on this b/c I note in the above article it says the design was developed through many years of AT&T and WUT experience, and then the wording goes on to state it was Brookfield who developed it. I also know Brookfield was advertising during this era that they made specialty insulators b/c they had the wherewithal to do so. I do not know why Hemingray was not included in this article (and the others of contemporary publication). Hoping something concrete in print is out there that someone will bring up? When I first read the articles I found, and not knowing the history specifically of who invented the 152, the wording of the articles never hinted to me anything other than Brookfield "developed" means they "developed" (not a statement of them just producing them for the companies) this design as well as the other article saying it was the new Brookfield insulator. All I really care to know is "who done it!" Admittedly it looks more Brookfield-ish to me at present from all the PRINTED info being contemporary, but an article or catalog from Hemingray from 1910 would be great to find!
