One of the best possible examples of a cable top insulator from the early 1900s and used on the San Francisco trolley system. The light blondish sections contrast strikingly against the striated dark brown, Lignum Vitae wood. Even the rich dark brown portions of the wood are nicely tiger-striped. Just one typically normal unfilled fissure on one side of the body (these are often filled with wood putty, but thankfully this one was left in its natural state). It contains an inner skirt. You will look long and hard to find a better example. $350, plus actual shipping. PayPal F&F, or check. See following pic for a secondary view. |
