The Standard Glass Insulator Company works stood somewhere either in this photo or nearby (I do not know).

An old 6-pin telegraph line is seen with a 10-pin arm beneath. Quite possibly additional circuits were being added and the old six-pin arms above soon would be replaced by 10-pin ones to replace the aging ones, adding capacity as well. During these upgrades Western Union reused any double-petticoat in good condition (notably CD 145s at the time) in addition to metal hardware (pins, braces, etc.)
