Here's a couple of straight-skirt double-diamond CD 102s - one of the molds included in the [160] guide book listing. At left is a very crisp, bright light blue, and at right a more grey-toned steel blue colour. Neither is a typical aqua. For some added character, the light blue example has a number of angular glass cullet chunks embedded in the dome top - likely flakes of glass left from the previous pour that were dumped back into the mold before this one was made. The light blue example has a 1/2" fisheye bruise on the upper wire ridge on one side, an angled surface annealing crack that runs across the skirt on the opposite side, and some deep wire rubbing and associated flaking on the lower wire ridge on one side. The steel blue example has almost exactly the same wire rubbing on one side, almost completely removing the lower wire ridge in that spot. What are the chances? I'm now asking $11 USD plus shipping for the pair. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
