I was surprised to find apparently modern day fogbowls in service during a recent trip to Emerald Isle, North Carolina. These were located within a block or two of the Atlantic Ocean and occurred continuously along a 10-mile or so stretch of the barrier island. Several miles inland, the power lines all appeared to employ conventional saddle top and line post insulators. Additional pics at [id=68031955] and [id=68032000].
