I posted a group of three marking variations in this Canadian version of a dry process exchange style last year and they disappeared almost instantly. I thought I'd try again with couple different oddball marking variations. This style turns up often in Ontario as it was mass-produced by Hamilton Porcelain and used by Bell across most of the province. Some marking variations are much easier to find than others, however, and it has proven to be a bit of fun trying to track them all down. At this point I've found at least 7 marking variations in this style, and there are likely more out there that have been overlooked. From left to right, this trio includes: 1.) Dome embossed "CTS", skirt recessed-embossed MADE IN CANADA in rectangular slug plate, base recessed-embossed HP. VNM. 2.) Dome embossed "CTS" rather weakly (maybe an attempt at a blotout?), base embossed MADE IN CANADA and HP. VNM. 3.) Base embossed STROMBERG CARLSON and MADE IN CANADA. Note this is one of the few examples of this style that doesn't feature the manufacturer's mark (HP for Hamilton Porcelain). VNM. Now asking $22 USD plus shipping for the group of three. I'm always happy to trade for early Canadian glass or Canadian-made porcelain insulators. I accept PayPal, or personal cheque from any member of ICON or any collector with whom I have dealt before. Please feel free to contact me with any questions or for more photos, and look through my other items or unsold sales stock to combine shipping on items. |
