This photo was taken on Perrysville AV in Pittsburgh in 1922. This lamp was removed from service around 1925. Classic urban distribution pole line construction of the 1910's abounds in this photo! The following link is to a photo of the only preserved example of this type of lamp that was itself once used in Pittsburgh. These lamps were removed from service around 1925 and replaced with more modern incandescent fixtures [id=677213522].
