The two-pin crossarm seen here eventually supported series street lighting wires, a fire alarm call box circuit or a pair of primary voltage lines (1,100 volts in Hingham at the time). For more details and an overall view of this pole and its surroundings, click "Previous".

The identity of this lineman is not known. For the most part, the utility hired line contractors until around 1916 when all their staff were employees of the Hingham Light Plant. Contracted work after then mostly took place for extensive storm repairs.
